"Handshake To The World"

Verse 1

It's wonderful to see you here, I'll introduce myself to you.
Most of the things that some may say about me is very true;
I sing a lot and play guitar, people say I do alright.
I'm just playing every day, and I'm playing every night.
But when I'm not playing music, I spend time with the ones I love.
My family and friends remind me I can always rise above.
And, they give me peace of mind when I feel I lose my way.
And, I'm so grateful for folks like you, 'cause I just wanna make your day.

Verse 2

Canadian, Acadian, let me take you for a ride!
Within my heart, mind, body and soul, that's where my songs reside.
If you're interested in feelings and thoughts, I might let you come inside.
Just be ready when my calmest beaches make way for restless tides.
'Cause for now I'm still at work, and I think I'll always be
At maintaining my stability so I can clearly see,
See the road that lies before me as I ever drift along
Never lost unto oblivion, that's why I wrote this song...

Verse 3

I'm not the type of guy to go on a magic carpet ride;
I just came to give one heck of a time.
Can I make myself at home while I witness a wonderful view
From the top of the hill I'm sitting on so fine?
And, while you're at it, give me a sign when I should walk around,
Soak my feet, and watch the sun set as it shines upon the ground?
I'm looking forward to watching sparrows fly and feeding all the squirrels,
And, if I haven't said it before, then, "Hello World!"
If I haven't said it before, then, "Hello World!"

Verse 4

Hey there world, remember me? I think we met sometime ago;
Those were the days I didn't get the concept of ebb and flow.
Those days are gone, but nevertheless, I'd like to say, "How do you do?"
Ya see, I'd like to know you better, and I'd like to better you.
'Cause I hear that there are struggles with the way that things are now;
I see it every day on the TV screen and I always wonder how,
Like, "How can I make a difference?" Then it's obvious to see,
That this song is such a gift, and that this gift's inside of me.

Verse 5

So I ask myself why I should merely pass the time
When I could make you a better place to be.
And, I'm not the only one, I got a bunch of friends
Who have the very same ambitions just like me.
And, whatever time that I may have, it must be shrewdly used;
It's 'cause all that really matters is of truth I am accused.
So then I will walk upon this path like it is made of pearls,
And I won't even care whose flag unfurls.
This is my handshake to the world.

Verse 6

And, even if the tide is high, I will keep pressing on;
I got nothing left to lose, I'll be alright.
I'll continue to be happy as I sing my song
And the truth directs my way all through the night,
For it is said in the big ol' book, "Just seek, and you will find."
So, I will make my way through the road ahead and leave my past behind.
I'll remember how and why I'm here, that much is very true,
But I'll learn from my mistakes, there's been a few;
And that will never stop me from helping you.

Outro

And, I wonder many things as I may change and grow,
'Cause in the way of which I'll go
There is so much to know.

"If You Wonder Why"

Verse 1

When I'm on the road and on my way,
What wonder may I see today?
I'm driving down an open highway, and the cars all pass me by.
I witness all the pretty trees that've all burned down,
And blossoms that are blooming all around.
And I think to myself, what a miracle, yet such a great divide.
I tell you the honest truth about how I feel
And ask myself if what I see is real;
I never thought I'd be here, I'm so grateful, yet sad at the same time.
And, I wonder how the world would be if I wasn't here,
As I sit right under my chandelier.
I can't explain the reason for this, but I always wonder why.

Verse 2

And, I know how it feels to forsake something beautiful,
And know the times when peace does not come easily.
But, when I feel alone, this is what I do:
I just go and I see the one that I believe.
So, keep praying for the strength to carry on
Even if you're lost and hope is gone.
There is a reason for your struggles, even if you wonder why.

Verse 3

Of my soul I am aware; I give my heart it's proper due
In a world where I strive to be true.
Although you know my story, I need you to understand, I beg and plead...
...That when you're on the road and on your way,
That you wouldn't mind and see the day
As one great gift never to waste, never sell and never hide.
Though curtain calls may close you out, the show goes on
Even if the world may pass it on.
There is a reason for the struggle, even if you wonder why.

"Sometimes"

Verse 1

I'm gonna let nothing stand in my way;
I'm gonna let nothing get me down.
I wake in the mornin', see a brighter day
And remember all the beautiful things around.
And, I remember you and all the things you'd say
That'd help me get through some lonesome times.
I wonder where they've gone; I feel like something's died.

Verse 2

Oh, and it hit me so fast that I couldn't see
You had a different way to go.
If things never changed and they stayed the same, I'd be more happy,
But, then again, I'd probably never know.
I told you what was wrong, wrote for you a lot of songs
And wept and cried for you for many nights.
And, to this very day, I still feel something is not right.

Chorus

Oh, you know, you know, you know this is how I feel.
Why does it have to be this way?
Some days I can't believe that this is real,
But it is to my dismay.
But, sometimes, when thoughts get rough,
I look to the skies above,
And I think to myself, "I think I need some love, love, love."
Whoa, whoa. *This line is not included in the repeat.*

Verse 3

I called you up the other day;
I bet you thought I was foolin' around.
I told you all I had to say,
But I knew that happiness couldn't be found.
I wish I never believed that you would never leave.
That's the reason why I wrote this song.
And, I told you many times before, but I still feel that something's wrong.
Chorus

"Visit To Mary's"

Verse 1

I'm minding my own business, and a thought occurs to me
Like the virgin bearing her seed.
And, I wonder at this thinking process and wander at my deeds,
And wonder where this thought just my lead.
She's a girl of which I thought her no good,
But I believe she's changed her ways.
For the past few months, I've been thinking about her throughout my days.

Chorus

And, I'll take a visit to Mary's;
She lives a few blocks down.
It's so much better than living on the other side of town.
I'll just offer some prayers for Mary
And the hope that she doesn't feel down,
Because there's nothing that can stop this world from spinning around.

Verse 2

Now I do admit, there were times she would help me out,
And other times she would wander about.
And, then there were times we would scream and shout
When the music has playing too loud.
Although those days are all gone now,
Still I don't cry.
Deep in my heart, I can say that I tried.
Chorus

Outro Verse

There's nothing that can stop this world from spinning around.
I said there's nothing that can stop us spinning around.

"Impress Me"

Verse 1

What is happening in the world today?
People pullin' me, gettin' in my way.
I don't know what it is with the way things are,
But, I'm determined; I'm gonna raise the bar.
I'm gonna be walkin' tall.
I got my back off the wall,
So, you can never stop me at all.

Verse 2

Don't need no seminar to try an' change my style.
You want original? I've gone an extra mile,
'Cause I put all of me into what I do.
And, if ya don't like that, it's just not for you.
Even if you had the choice,
You can never stop my voice.
That is who I am, and I'm staying true.

Verse 3

I keep watching the days roll in,
Wonderin' where I'm s'possed to begin.
And, if you ain't heard by now, I thought I'd let you know.
That no matter what you do,
I just can't surrender to you
Or you'll find me flat on my face with nowhere to go.

Verse 4

You invest in the most powerful hands,
But can't afford to help out your fellow man.
You try and test me, but you don't understand;
You don't impress me. I'm stickin' to my plan.
I'm doing what I love to do,
And it ain't gon' be changed by you.
That is who I am, and that's where it's at.

Verse 5

And, you think you'll get the best of me,
But it's oh, so clear to see
That there's more than one fine way to get on top of the hill.
'Cause I'm paving my own way,
And there ain't nothin' you can say
That will stop me dead in my tracks, but just try as you will.

Verse 6

Keep tryin' to sell me what I don't need.
Keep tryin' to tell me whatever I don't read.
But, I'm gon' press onward and go along my way.
So, it's goodbye now. That's all I gotta say.
I'm the one who's in control,
And will be even when I'm old.
That is who I am, and that's where it's at.

Outro Verse

I'm the one who's in control,
And will be even when I'm old.
That is who I am, and that's where it's at.

"The Letter"

Verse 1

So, it's all come down to this;
Why did you have to go away?
It has been so long since I've seen you till today.
I wrote a letter
That's lost in space in time;
Never knowing where it's gone, it was my only alibi.
And, I couldn't find a rhyme...

Verse 2

...To tell you how I really feel
About the way that things went by.
Though I know there's a reason, I still tend to wonder why.
My love was taken
By the hand and thrown on the ground,
'Cause it gave me peace of mind to know that you would be around.
There's no-one that I found like you.
Mmmh...

Chorus 1

'Cause no-one else was there for me,
Except for you as one so free.
So, who else was I to be
Than scorned and taunted?
I knew no better than the rest,
I was ignorant at best.
And, you put me to the test;
Now, I'm unwanted.

Verse 3

You know just what I speak about;
I don't think it's ever slipped your mind.
And I know it's my fault, you have no need to apologize.
But, maybe I'm wrong;
Maybe a part of me was slain.
By intention, or not you're still forgiven all the same.
Even for giving me this pain I bear...
Oh, how I wish that you still cared...

Chorus 2

Because without you, there's a shroud
Of lonesome times and stormy clouds.
If I could get to you somehow, I hope you'd understand
That I hate being so alone,
I feel so lost, where did I go?
I wish that we talked on the phone,
But as a better man, I know it's hard to let you go,
But I have to realize you've closed the door.
And, now I'm on my own and broken hearted for sure;
I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

Verse 4

Now it's all been said and done.
If you just have to leave, you may.
Unless you change your mid, the best that I can do is pray,
Put all this behind me
And remember what I have done.
Though as gloomy as it is I know, I have to move along,
Forever, in my song.

"It's Fall All 'Round"

Verse 1

The leaves are starting to fall, and reality takes place
When the grass starts to die away and the sheep no longer graze.
And before you know it it's winter, and it makes a lonesome sound.
So, come on, folks, tip your hats, it's fall all 'round.

Verse 2

The bears in the woods hibernate till it's spring
When the grass is revived again and the bells of nature ring.
The little ones will grow up and the older ones might step down,
So, come on, folks, tip your hats, it's fall all 'round.

Chorus

I don't wanna bring you down, I wanna lift you up.
I don't wanna see you frown; I wanna fill your cup.

Verse 3

Sometimes when I'm on the road, I carry a broken heart;
Many nights I've been alone, never knowing where to start.
And, when summer turns to fall, you'll find me as a scolded hound,
So, I must tip my hat 'cause it's fall all 'round.
Chorus, Verse 1
